The challenge of developing hand painted designs on fabric and the scope of wax resist techniques offered by Batik have resulted in my current work. I develop each piece from life (if the subject is transportable to my studio), sketches and photographs. A  purpose built garden studio allows me the peace and tranquillity to create my designs.

The Batiks in the online gallery show a selection of my work. Each piece, worked on fine cotton fabric or silk, involves several applications of wax and dye and takes many hours of work.  The result  - a stunning vibrant wall decoration
